We're thrilled that you're considering Western Carolina University, the westernmost institution in the University of North Carolina System. Important Deadlines and Application Information

To ensure you are considered for all available opportunities, it's crucial to be aware of our specific application deadlines. If you wait for your application to be shared by UNC Chapel Hill with WCU, you may miss out on the chance to be considered for the Catamount Commitment program, our honors scholarships, and other scholarships for first-year students. To be eligible for the Catamount Commitment, your application must be submitted by January 2nd. The deadline for our honors program is November 1st, and our scholarship application deadline is February 1st. Please note, there are no exceptions to these deadlines; waiting for the Choose NC share of your application will not suffice if you wish to meet these dates.
