For the past twelve years, WCU has selected an interdisciplinary theme for campus conversations, curricular and co-curricular connections, and enrichment. The primary focus is to educate and to offer a holistic look at something through multiple lenses. The 2022-2023 Campus Theme is Mental Health and Wellness: Awareness, Support, and Community Care.
Campus themes constitute one example of a high impact practice that provides students with common and collaborative educational experiences, opportunities to connect curricular and co-curricular learning, and explorations of disciplines through a common framework.
The mission of the One Book program is to engage first-year students, as well as the campus community, in a common intellectual experience that promotes critical thinking and interdisciplinary conversation.
Signature campus events throughout the academic year will highlight the campus theme. Events include exhibits, speakers, community engagement, and more. Explore the events on campus as we spend the year focusing on Water.
