Our students learn more than just the content of their disciplines; they are taught to lead, to work in teams, to be professionals, and to respond appropriately to cultures different than their own. DegreePlus is a holistic approach to education that sets out to strengthen our incredible work around leadership, cultural responsiveness, teamwork, and professionalism and to make it an intentional enhancement to the curricular and co-curricular experience at WCU. Participation prepares students for life after Western Carolina University.
Student employment is a valuable part of the educational experience for our students, and we welcome the opportunity to support and advance your professional and personal development. Student workers at WCU have opportunities to enhance their learning in the five global outcomes promoted by WCU for all students.
The Hire Advantage Supervisor Program is an eight-week, asynchronous course in Canvas and is available to part-time and full-time faculty and staff members of WCU. The program aims to connect supervisors of student workers to additional resources and information regarding managing students for optimum student professional development.
