TEAS® Registration and Administration Guidelines

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®)
The TEAS® is an assessment product of Academic Testing, Inc (ATI). The WCU School of Nursing Traditional Pre-licensure BSN program uses applicant performance on the ATI, in addition to the ACT, and current collegiate GPA to rank applicants. The Accelerated BSN program uses performance on the ATI, science GPA, and last 60-hour GPA, resume, cover letter and a program interview score to rank applicants.

WCU tests using ATI TEAS (Version VI). ATI provides TEAS study preparation material. Visit the ATI TEAS preparation materials website for complete details. You are encouraged to review this information. TEAS test preparation materials are also available through Mometrix. WCU students qualify for a discount on Mometrix materials. Use the code WCU-50-OFF when completing your purchase.

Applicants may take the TEAS exam once every 30 days. The highest score from repeated attempts will be accepted. Applicants must take the TEAS exam by the application deadline.

For more information about TEAS admissions guidelines and application deadlines, please contact wcunursing@wcu.edu.

Registration for TEAS® Administration

For BSN and ABSN applicants, the TEAS is administered by the WCU Continuing Education Department on the Cullowhee campus. To review cost, dates and make a reservation, visit the WCU Testing Center's exam dates webpage.

Off-Campus Testing

The TEAS does not need to be taken at WCU however, if taken off campus, students must still adhere to our testing guidelines. Students wishing to take the TEAS exam off-campus are encouraged to contact their local university, community college or testing center (i.e., Prometric or Sylvan). Students may also arrange to take the exam through PSI Exams Online. Exams arranged through PSI can typically be scheduled and proctored through a local testing center or online. Scores are available within 72 hours after completing the exam. If registering with PSI, please schedule your test date at least 3 days in advance of the application deadline. For more information, please visit PSI Exams Online.
