Among those speaking at the Thursday, Sept. 5, ceremony will be Chancellor Kelli R. Brown, Board of Trustees Chair Bryant Kinney and alumnus Michael Naylor.
Faculty members are eligible for nomination if they are tenured and have been employed at WCU for at least seven years.
Bryant Kinney, an alumnus and public and governmental affairs executive who resides in Lincoln County, was elected to serve as chair.
Louis Ducruet says the time that he and his new wife, Marie, spent on the WCU campus was life changing and something they will never forget.
She had been serving as executive assistant to WCU Chief of Staff Melissa Canady Wargo for the past six years.
The free workshop will be presented by Geoff Burrows, senior program officer in the NEH Division of Research Programs.
The series will feature cartoonist Bob Mankoff; Thomas Joiner, one of the world’s leading authorities on suicide; and clinical psychologist Scott Lilienfeld from Emory University.
Other speakers at the event were WCU Chancellor Kelli R. Brown and Provost Alison Morrison-Shetlar, while Student Government Association President David Rhode served as master of ceremonies.
Attendance of employees at meetings of Faculty Senate and Staff Senate is considered work time (university service) with approval of the individual’s supervisor.
