Staff Senate expands campus support, community involvement

Staff Senate increased its expectations for community service this year, setting a goal of 450 volunteer hours and a 100 percent participation rate by senators.

Alumna Annalee Blanks named UNC System Presidential Scholar

Annalee Blanks, a May 2020 graduate of Western Carolina University, has been selected as one of three University of North Carolina System presidential scholars. Blanks, who graduated from WCU in three years with a bachelor of science degrees in history and political science, and a certificate in public history, will begin her one-year appointment in July.

Mountain Heritage Center to provide 'summer camp' packets for pickup

While summer camp programs have been suspended at the Mountain Heritage Center, Western Carolina University’s museum of Appalachian culture will provide 'Step Back in Time' activity and crafts packets to elementary school students on a limited basis.
