Welcome to Western Wednesdays, the podcast edition! While Western Wednesdays have been around for 18 months, we’re excited to bring it to you in the world of podcasts. Telescope clinic, night sky viewing scheduled at Apodaca Science Building

WCU will host a telescope clinic on campus, followed by a free, open to the public telescope viewing using in-house telescopes on Friday, March 11, on the fifth-floor terrace of the Apodaca Science Building.   

Engineering professor named as resident scholar for NSF funded research with FDA

Martin Tanaka, a professor in the College of Engineering and Technology, has been selected to be a scholar in residence with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation.   

WCU to examine environmental ethics in free, open-to-public lectures

WCU will host a series of three lectures on environmental ethics by Christian Diehm, professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, in late March.

Diversity Dialogues is a podcast produced by the Communications and Marketing Department at Western Carolina University. Our roundtable discussions, led by David Walton, involve rigorous debate and discussion over issues and topics related to diversity and inclusion in our society. UNC Board of Governors gives approval for WCU student rates, increase for athletic program fees

Student fees and rates for the 2022-23 academic year have been approved by the UNC Board of Governors, including an $86 per year increase for athletic program support.
