Olivia Ramos, a Charlotte native who studied entertainment design and technology at WCU, knew she wanted to do something involving the arts, but her small high school did not offer a theater arts program.   

Business students complete capstone project for military resort

In the spring of 2022, Charlie Parrish, director of the School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sport Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, met with Lee Schmudde, outgoing chair of the Hospitality and Tourism Management board, and AJ Grube, the College of Business dean, to discuss the possibility of a capstone project with the military-affiliated Shades of Green Resort in Orlando.  

Student receives nationally competitive scholarship to study abroad

Lanasia Pleasants was chosen as the 2023 recipient of the National Security Education Program David L. Boren Scholarship and is only the third WCU student to receive the award.

Students experience the benefits of the outdoors through Nature Rx course

Forest bathing has been shown to decrease blood pressure, be beneficial to a person’s parasympathetic nervous system and protection from infections. It is also known to help combat anxiety, depression and lower stress.
